I've been a software engineer since 2014. I grew up in Austria and studied computer science there, a bachelor's in Innsbruck and a master's in Linz. My first job was at a logistics company.
My wife, an American from Louisiana, brought me to the US. I ran a consulting firm and started a food truck app that didn't survive COVID. Then I joined Improving, an IT consultancy, which placed me at Anadarko Petroleum's innovation lab in Houston to work on drilling analytics. We moved to DC. I did a stint at Capital One and then joined AWS.
My team at AWS owns AWS Transit Gateway, Reachability Analyzer, Network Access Analyzer, and Traffic Mirroring.
On the side I build Marquis, software that tracks press coverage for my wife's PR firm. This blog is a record of that work and how I use AI to do it.
LinkedIn is the best way to reach me. Opinions are my own.
